This is Bogota, about a 1/4 of it, it is a HUGE city. This is the view from Monserrate, which is a church on the top of a mountain right outside of the city.

A little out of order, but here is our first meal- a traditional Colombian soup called ajiaco. Its made with chicken and potatoes and you add avacado and capers- tasty!! Also note, there are eggs out of the fridge, they don't keep eggs in the fridge because its cool enough to leave them out here. Speaking of the weather, we are supposed to be in the rainy season but we've only seen it rain considerably twice and its been more than two weeks- pretty amazing. The weather changes by the minute here though, one second its hot, then its cold, then its drizzling- you have to bring lots of layers and an umbrella with you but most of the time it feels like fall so its awesome!

Amazingly, we also saw a rainbow end to end on our first day in the country, I think its a good sign!!

First Weekend

This is our new family in Bogota, Juana, Manolo, Linnea, and me. This was taken at their country studio which is about an hour out of the city in a valley called Wasca. The country is breath-taking, the mountains, a lake, incredible! Not only was the view amazing but the food too, Juana is an wonderful cook (she used to have a bakery)- she is teaching us a lot! We've made tiramassu and a Gran Marnier so far.

After lunch we spent the afternoon exploring the property and taking pictures. Manolo is an artist and he is pretty into photography so he was teaching us some basic techniques to make our pictures infinitely better!
